Solid inclusions

Fluorite (Source C) (CaF2)

Green spinel inclusion adjacent to lilac fluorite in a rough sapphire from Malagasy
Purplish fluorite minerals were found as an inclusion in a rough sapphire (Source C). One of the fluorites is intergrown with spinel. Such inclusions have also been found in a ruby from the Mong Hsu mining area in Myanmar (Burma) (Peretti et al., 1996) and colourless topaz from Josh, Nigeria. At the Mong Hsu locality, however, the minerals are formed in hydrothermal veins which are located within dolomite-marbles. The paragenesis in these veins include rubies, sapphires, rutile, fluorite, fuchsite, calcite and other hydrosilicates.
