Lot 461 Important and Attractive Ruby and Diamond Necklace/Tiara, circa 1890
Composed of eighteen graduated clusters, each claw-set with an oval mixed-cut ruby, ranging in size from 1.01ct to 4.36ct, the oval surrounds and trefoil motif connections set throughout with cushion-shaped diamonds, the larger ten clusters are detachable to form a Tiara and the eight smaller cluster detach to form a Bracelet

The eighteen rubies respectively weiging: 1.30ct, 1.08ct, 1.09ct, 1.01ct, 1.02ct, 0.98ct, 1.45ct, 1.35ct, 1.37ct, 1.96ct, 2.18ct, 2.53ct, 2.17ct, 4.36ct, 2.35ct, 2.61ct, 1.24ct, 2.37ct (starting from the tongue of the necklace clasp), for a total of 32.42ct
The five largest rubies, respectively weighing 2.61ct, 2.35ct, 4.36ct, 2.17ct and 2.53ct are accompanied by Gemresearch Laboratory (Lucern, Switzerland) reports nos. GRL9804016, GRL9804017, GRL9804018, GRL9804019, GRL9804020 all stating that the rubies are natural, with no indication of thermal treatment, origin: Burma (Mogok, Myanmar)
