Licence Agreement

Please read this agreement before proceeding in using the online report verification feature. By clicking “Accept” you agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement by GRS Gemresearch Swisslab AG (referred to as GRS in this agreement).

The voluntary support of GRS reports in the GRS online report verification system is limited to 5 years.

We recommend that stones with older reports (and even more recent ones) to be re-checked and updated for the following reasons:

  • A report might have been re-called by GRS and/or an update has been made and the old invalid report is still used in violation of the contractual agreement with GRS.
  • A stone might have been re-cut (different weight) and/or the stone has been altered and the report is still in use without actually representing the stone's current condition.
  • Technological capabilities, international knowledge, and research findings have been expanded, and the conclusion regarding the stone's origin, treatments, or other terminology used on the report needs to be updated.

GRS recommends that all stones to be re-checked at the time of purchase and when changing ownership to prevent misunderstandings, particularly but not limited to the three points outlined above.

  1. Our gemstone reports bear two holograms containing a GRS logo. That GRS logo is trademarked by GRS Gemresearch Swisslab AG, Baumschulweg 13, 6045 Meggen, Switzerland.

  2. This report verification search program is provided as an additional means to prohibit potential fraud and issuance of false GRS reports and add an extra layer of security. If a report cannot be found in this system, please contact us via email at info@gemresearch.ch.

  3. The database is updated at least on a bi-monthly basis.

  4. GRS does not guarantee that all issued report data is included in our online report verification database. Some gemstone report data may not exist digitally within our report verification database. GRS cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage caused by the inability to locate a report. GRS provides this online verification system voluntarily.

  5. Finding report data online does not guarantee the authenticity of the report in your possession. It only indicates that such a report may exist. Reports can be authenticated only by having the original GRS report and the corresponding gemstone re-inspected by a GRS laboratory.

  6. This database may not be used to duplicate any reports.

  7. Copying the contents of this database is strictly prohibited.

  8. The use of this database outside our GRS website is strictly prohibited.

  9. GRS withholds the right to terminate this online report verification service in the future for any given reason without prior notice.

  10. You hereby agree to the general terms and conditions of GRS, as published on the GRS website.

  11. The place of legal jurisdiction is Lucerne, Switzerland.

  12. Any misuse of this service shall be reported to GRS.
